PMMA stands for polymethyl methacrylate. PMMA resins have been used as waterproofing and surfacing systems in structural refurbishment (e.g. with or without fleece reinforcement) for more than 30 years. The success can be attributed predominantly to three properties:
1. Durability
2. Speed
3. Security
Liquid resins are often the most appropriate system solutions as they offer flexible and lasting solutions for special projects outside our classic areas of application.
We are an Approved Installer for WestWood® Liquid Technologies Ltd and can install both WECRYL and SPECIAL systems (see below)

Wecryl Waterproofing SystemThe Wecryl waterproofing system is a seamless, crack-bridging and joint-bridging waterproofing system that is able to withstand mechanical stresses. It contains a highly flexible and fleece-reinforced waterproofing layer as well as abrasion-resistant system layers for vehicle and foot traffic. The waterproofing system's liquid application and high bonding strength on almost any substrate also allow breakthroughs and upstands to be integrated securely and seamlessly. These properties make the system a cost-effective solution for car parks and balconies, especially for refurbishment projects.
Its fleece-reinforced waterproofing layer makes the Wecryl waterproofing system particularly suitable for all areas that include joints or that are highly susceptible to cracking. The heavy-duty wearing layer, the modifiable anti-skid or anti-slip characteristics and the extensive surface design options provide the necessary flexibility to meet the individual requirements of car park and balcony projects. The Benefits:
|
Special SystemsThe WestWood® Drainage System is specifically designed for the refurbishment of mineral substrates. The system offers a reliable method for removing the moisture enclosed in the substrate by means of a cavity system. Since they are applied as a liquid, the system components create a seamless waterproofing layer that can safely integrate even the most complex details. The system is also weather-resistant, crack-bridging, flexible at low temperatures and its surface can be finished in any desired colour. The WestWood® Insulation System is an economical solution for sealing roof terraces, balconies, etc. with additional thermal insulation for the structure. Fermacell® Powerpanel TE is used as a load distributing board. Please note: these installation instructions are intended as additional information for the Wecryl waterproofing system and only describe the implementation steps and products up to the Wecryl 171 primer layer on fermacell®. The WestWood® Open Space Heating System is a seamless, mechanically durable system for surfacing areas subjected to vehicle traffic. With the heating embedded in the surfacing, it offers reliable protection against hazardous winter driving conditions due to ice and snow. The surface can be finished in any colour and can also feature patterns or markings in a wide range of shades. Its liquid application and high bonding strength on almost any standard substrate encountered in multi-storey and underground car parks make this system a cost-effective, durable and high-quality solution, particularly for the refurbishment of ramps in such buildings.
